The concept of EEUWIG was born during the covid pandemic. It gave Jeroen van Riet the much needed time to finally record some ideas he had been collecting for years. This resulted in three songs initially - a lot more material has been written since then. He then asked vocalist Ronald Stempyn to join in.

Van Riet: "Next to my own vocals the music needed some spice, so that's why I asked Ronald. I have always been blown away by his vocal delivery and stage performance. So to contact Ronald to contribute to a new band was a no-brainer. And besides that he's a great guy".

Stempyn: “With a mutual respect for each other’s endeavours, it was inevitable to create something together. We live in the same area, so we bump into each other now and then to talk about music, and now it was time to talk business!

'Tides' was produced, mixed and mastered by van Riet's brother, Evan. The artwork for 'Tides' was done by Ronald's girlfriend Marjolijn and the video was made by Ronald's son James.

Lyrically, Tides deals with time. Not as a linear idea, but as a cycle, as something repetitive. Therefore it is so important to maintain balance: as a human being towards ourselves, nature, but also towards our ancestors and children.
